Oklahoma State University (OSU) is located in Stillwater, Oklahoma, America’s friendliest college town. The English Language and Intercultural Center (ELIC) is located on OSU’s campus in the Wes Watkins Center, a state-of-the-art facility that hosts numerous workshops, seminars, lectureships, and global briefings throughout the year by national and international figures. ELIC students are often invited to participate in these events and thus have excellent opportunities to practice language skills by interacting with guests from the Stillwater and OSU communities, representatives of business and industry, and government officials. Additionally, ELIC students participate in weekly events outside of campus that provide authentic opportunities to utilize the language learned through classroom instruction. Instruction is provided by experienced doctoral students in the TESOL & Linguistics program who hold master’s degrees in TESOL or a closely related field and who are committed to helping students accomplish their academic, professional, and personal goals.
